about us - Sipbuild - SETTING HIGHER STANDARDS

SipBuild Ltd was set-up in 2005. The company directors, David Ball and Peter Barr have a proven record of success with leading companies within the composite panel industry, gaining knowledge and experience of panel technology and product development.

With rigid foam technology and manufacturing processes well established, Structural Insulated Panels were an obvious progression from the steel faced panel background that both David and Peter came from, and in 2005, SipBuild was formed.

Since the birth of the company, SipBuild have quickly established themselves amongst the leading SIP companies, and have already completed several high profile projects, working with both major developers such as Urban Splash and individual builders.

This growth has been aided by a shift in focus within the construction industry towards improving energy efficiency and reducing build times and defects.
This shift follows on from issues raised in ‘Rethinking Construction’, a report conducted by the Construction Task Force, led by Sir John Egan in 1998.

The points highlighted by the report have seen the implementation of several government initiatives and incentive schemes, and most recently the revision of the building regulations in the UK, thus created the need for building products with greater thermal performance, quicker build times and fewer defects than traditional masonry and timber frame methods.

Structural Insulated Panels, SIPs, offer a solution to these strict requirements, giving system U values as low of 0.14 W/m/K, a greatly reduced build programme, and an end product with tight tolerances and no defects.

SipBuild are aiming to continue their growth as the UK market for SIPs develops, and are constantly looking to improve their system performance, through research and performance testing. We recognise that as a relatively new or unknown product, some engineers, architects and builders need to learn more about the system capabilities and performance. SipBuild extend an invitation for anyone wanting to use SIPs on their next project to come and visit us at our Cheshire production facility, where we will be able to demonstrate the manufacture and fabrication processes and answer all of your technical questions.
